Protection from Cyberattacks
Bosch showcases new information services at it-sa, Europe’s Leading IT Security Trade Show
Newsflash | August 2019
it-sa 2019, billed as “The IT Security Expo and Congress”, will take place in Nuremberg from October 8 to 10 of this year. Building experts from Bosch will be on hand at Booth 506 in Hall 10.1 to present the company’s latest information security services for providing protection from cyberattacks.
Cybercriminals are also a threat to building security solutions. Increasingly, today’s physical security systems are IP-based and run on the same networks as generic office and production IT systems. “The growing use of IT, along with greater networking, is also making building security solutions potentially vulnerable to all of the same risks that plague the rest of the IT world, such as hacker attacks and malware,” explains André Heuer, who heads the Information Security (“InfoSec”) division of Bosch Building Technologies. “Especially in critical infrastructure, this intertwining of IT and facility management makes it essential to find new ways to ward off cyberattacks. We want to help our customers extend their information security strategies to include physical systems.”
To meet this need, Bosch is introducing new services for fending off cyberattacks and other threats to IT systems. The expanded service portfolio of its InfoSec division closes this gap in conventional building security systems by erecting “cyberbarriers”.
The portfolio now embraces three complementary modules:
Information Security Consulting for designing tailored information security concepts to meet customers’ special protection goals.
The Security Operations Center (SOC), which manages vulnerabilities and InfoSec incidents to ensure a consistently high level of information security while complying with reporting requirements (like those imposed by the German IT Security Act).
IT Security Services, which implement appropriate measures to protect building security solutions from cyberthreats.
All of the services are provided in close consultation with customers’ IT security officers. With this offering, Bosch is raising the standard of information security in buildings to a new level.
